Azerbaijani Chess Player Won World Youth Championship

Azerbaijani chess player Govhar Beydullayeva has become the winner of the World Youth (U-20) Championship held in Sardinia, Italy.

In the penultimate, tenth round she played to a draw against Zala Ur of Slovenia and scored 8.5 points. Regardless of the outcome of her last game at the Championship, Beidullayeva will retain the lead, as she holds a personal game advantage over her main competitor Assel Serikbay of Kazakhstan.

Another representative of Azerbaijan Lyaman Hajiyeva is ninth with 7 points and if she wins the last round, depending on the results of other games, she has a chance to take third place.

Among the boys, Azerbaijani representative Abdullah Gadimbeyli is second with 7.5 points. He is 0.5 points behind the leader.
