The Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis Was Celebrated in New York

On December 29, 2021, a holiday event was held in the Brooklyn area of ​​New York on the occasion of the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the arrival of the new calendar year 2022. The event was jointly organized by the New York Azerbaijan Cultural Center, the American Azerbaijani Women’s Society and the American Azerbaijani Cultural Center.

The participation of more than 100 of our compatriots, valuable guests and Santa Claus made this night more colorful and interesting.

Turkish Vice Consul Orhan Selcuk Sari, former and new presidents of the Federation of Turkish Associations Atilla Pak and Zarifsha Muratoglu, Secretary General Gulay Koseoglu, leader of the Mountain Jews community Yakov Abramov and other official guests congratulated Azerbaijanis on Solidarity Day and the New Year.

Representative of the Pakistani community Wagil Ahmad, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Javid Ismayilov, Head of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora on America, Israel and the United Kingdom Salhat Abbasova and New York Mayor Eric Adams could not attend the event and delivered a letter to the participants of the event.

 The debut of the Turan ensemble, which operates under the New York Cultural Center, also added a special color to the night.

The event was opened by the leaders of the societies Telman Jalil, Minavvar Vahabova and Zohra Sharifi with introductory speeches and congratulations. Representatives of the Turkish and Jewish communities Zarafsha Muratoglu and Yakov Abramov congratulated allAzerbaijanis around the world on the Solidarity Day.

In 2021, 32 young people who distinguished themselves in the activities carried out on behalf of Azerbaijan were awarded Honorary Certificates Letters of gratitude were also presented to the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Pakistan and the State of Israel, which supported Azerbaijan during the 44-day war. Santa Claus also entertained our young compatriots and gave them presents. Interesting games were held and the winners received souvenirs. The songs of the young singer Samir Guluzadeh amazed everyone. We hope that the night, which continues with delicious food, music and dances, will remain in the memory for a long time.
