Their predictions may soon be realized for a future champion who is now coming of age in Baku. While but 15 years old, Teymour Rajabov has
already proven himself as skilled and on his way to achieving the status of a grandmaster. The youngest grandmaster of the Earth is a fellow
from the "chess stars" company, who is invited with pleasure to take part in various big tournaments and following in the tracks of renowned World Champion and Azerbaijani
national hero Garry Kasparov. The spotlight is on Teymour mostly because of what he has accomplished at such an early age. Still the original push of his popularity
originates from his participation in his very young age in the Continent Championship: 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999; that took place in Spain, Greece and the CIS) - Winning four times
in a row. His forth victory highlighted of his young career. Teymour competed with players who were much older but he still came out on top. He also won a gold medal in a world
tournament. (1997, Spain).
Such a series of victories is significant at an older age but to combine such accomplishment while growing up is icing on the cake. It will be interesting
to see how he will do when competing at an adult age with such a head start. Human growth and development specialists hesitate as if early success is psychologically appropriate. Teymour,
regardless of the final analysis, also had an outstanding performance at Weik-un-Zee, Buenos-Ayres and Pamplona competitions which placed his name immediately entered the list of the
world's famous chess stars. The Argentine start with participation of Anatoliy Karpov, Judith Polgar, Nailgel Short, Victor Korchnoy and Se Dzun must be outlined. The young master
didn't coward from competitors and carried his full weight among the more experienced by not losing a single match. Moreover, his three last games were against the contest favorites
and thus it was a really hard job. Still playing equal against Anatoliy Karpov, Victor Korchnoy and Judith Polgar makes an image. Teymour Rajabov was second in the final match while
the winner, Anatoliy Karpov was a former opponent and the young man could take satisfaction that this not a clear-cut win since he had previously beaten at an earlier match in Baku.
From the same raw must be mentioned the final round of the current stage of the FIDE Grand Prix, when Teymour Rajabov and Garry Kasparov had applied their power against each other.
When the competition was over, the World Champion had mentioned at the press-conference, that the new generation leaded by Ruslan Ponomaryov, Alexander Grishuk and Teymour
Rajabov comes to replace the current most known chess masters. "All three have approximately equal chess
talents, while none of them is alike with others. This factor is promising us that the closest decade will
be a period of the most interesting struggle for occupying the Throne. It is hard to predict who will hold
the first position in the future - going beyond it is possible to speak just about sympathies and national
pride. Sympathies is with a player from my native land."
At the same time Teymour Rajabov acts very responsible, and this is one of the main components of a sport victory. Training, training and training - this is the only way to reach
to heights, especially when there are so many competitors. Recently the Russian Web page "Kasparov Club" a commentary
article that Teymour Rajabov will be a World Champion! "Nobody from the "Greats" managed to show at such an early age
such achievements. This spring Teymour had celebrated his 15th birthday, while glory of this new genius from Baku
shines brightly in international circles. Those closest to him note that his disposition is "hard and correct" for
his age. Personal features of the boy wonder from Baku must be considered: word combinations describe him well - impossible
concentration, fresh mind and ability to prepare for struggle. Each win and contest is as fire is to metal - to make it
stronger and stronger. It is considered that during last months Teymour grows stronger each day. Rajabov answers all
expectations. His rating increase rapidly and to be high on the ratings is the highest among chess players of Azerbaijan. And
answering the question if he can see himself as the Chess King, Teymour says: "Well, sometimes in my thoughts I try the Chess
Crown. It is rather comfortable and looks not so bad"!
